About the Team

The Enterprise AI Technology Design Team is a cross-campus group of professionals from the Division of IT and Distributed IT units, brought together to help lay the technological foundation for CSU’s AI future. This 8-month initiative focuses on building the infrastructure, strategy, and skills needed to responsibly and effectively adopt artificial intelligence across the university.

What We’re Working On

  • Benchmarking Nationally

    Aligning CSU’s efforts with what’s working across higher ed institutions around the country.

    Working with Microsoft and Amazon to gain access to tools, insights, and best practices.

  • Upskilling Our People

    Providing training and hands-on experience to ensure CSU’s IT staff are prepared for what’s next in AI.

  • Upgrading Infrastructure

    Strengthening CSU’s tech backbone to support fast, impactful AI initiatives and long-term innovation. 

Accomplishments

  • Created a prototype of RamGPT, CSU’s conversational AI platform.

  • Partnered with Microsoft and Cloudforce to co-develop AI strategies.

  • Launched hands-on training programs to accelerate AI fluency across IT roles.

  • Planned a university-wide October launch event for RamGPT to build awareness and excitement around AI.

How the Work Happens

The project follows a four-phase process:

  1. Discovery & Goal Setting

  2. Ideation & Concept Design

  3. Development & Prototyping

  4. Implementation & Continuous Improvement

Each phase includes structured collaboration through weekly half-day sessions—fostering progress, creativity, and accountability.
